Arlan Mintz Kardon has been practicing matrimonial law since the adoption of the Pennsylvania Divorce Code in 1980.  Her practice focuses on all aspects of family law including complicated premarital and post-marital agreements.  The predominant amount of Arlan’s matters involve extraordinarily complex financial cases.  Arlan has deciphered convoluted financial holdings including closely held companies, foreign and domestic trusts and offshore assets.  She has successfully litigated and tried valuation disputes over the years involving billions of dollars’ worth of assets across numerous asset classes.  Confidentiality is paramount with regard to Arlan’s client base.  She has represented self-employed business owners, executives of commercial real estate, insurance companies, bio tech and manufacturing companies, private equity firms, hedge funds, art and tax assets.  She also represents professionals, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and their significant others.

Because of her strong litigation background, both as an assistant district attorney and in private practice, she understands difficult personalities.  Arlan is often sought out to represent spouses trying to escape toxic relationships when the hope of the prospective outcome and a new life seems unfathomable.  Arlan has compassion, high emotional intelligence and has helped guide clients through their worst moments and seemingly hopeless challenges to become a trusted sounding board and legal advocate.  Even in the midst of high conflict engagement, Arlan manages to develop and foster long lasting relationships with her peers and colleagues.  With all of Arlan’s accomplishments as a well-honed litigator, Arlan settles far more cases than she tries.  Arlan is a proponent of dignified resolution so as to maintain as much privacy as possible for highly visible clients.

Arlan has in the past taught in the LLM Program of Temple University in their trial advocacy program.

Arlan lives in Center City Philadelphia with her husband, Bruce, and has twin daughters that are 32 years old.
